EMPOWER Talents and Careers recruits for a client based in Ghana, a Credit Collector (H/F).

 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your main missions revolve around 3 main areas:

 

Management of collections :

  •          In collaboration with the MD & Financial Controller, be a source of proposals to create or adapt if necessary the procedures for obtaining, monitoring and collecting credit
  •          Update or create files for all debtors
  •          Follow-up of litigation in relation to the Legal department ;
  •          Keep track of assigned accounts to identify unpaid debts ;
  •          Plan the procedure to be followed to recover the unpaid debts ;
  •          Locate and contact debtors to find out their payment status ;
  •          Negotiate repayment terms or payment plans ;
  •          Manage questions or complaints ;
  •          Investigate and resolve discrepancies ;
  •          Build trusting relationships with debtors where possible to avoid future problems ;
  •          Alert the superiors of debtors who are unwilling or unable to pay if necessary ;

Risk management:

  •          Study the risks and participate in the validation of credit to customers ;
  •          Sensitization of sales teams on possible risks by studying payment methods and deadlines ;

Reporting :

  •          Ensure the weekly review of customer receivables with each sales representative and alert them to collection difficulties ;
  •          Define a monthly planning of the collection objectives for the month
  •          Ensure the weekly reporting of customer receivables ;

Skills  

                                

Essential knowledge (Hard-skills)

 

  •          Good knowledge of recovery techniques ;
  •          Professional English ;
  •          Knowledge of the country's legal requirements ;
  •          Good knowledge of SAP ;
  •          Advanced mastery of Excel ;

 

Qualities required (Soft-skills)

  •          Rigorous, Pugnacious, Diplomat, Autonomous ;
  •          Good interpersonal skills and being a force of proposal ;
  •          Good negotiator, persuasive and results oriented ;

 

Training and experience

  •          Higher education (minimum Bac + 2) in accounting and finance, business management, communication , legal  or any other training relevant to the position ;
  •          A solid experience as a credit collector (Minimum 3 years of experience) will be an advantage
